What We Offer

A flexible English pathway from early years to post-16

Our tuition can be used for home education, additional support alongside school, alternative provision, re-engagement, SEND-aware enrichment, coursework support, GCSE preparation and confidence-building through language and literature.

English Language

We support reading, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, spelling, comprehension, spoken language and writing development in age-appropriate ways across the full learning journey. Sessions are tailored to current level, pace and confidence, helping learners build both accuracy and expression.

Language Development

English Literature

Learners develop close reading, interpretation, comparison, discussion and essay-writing skills through carefully chosen texts and thoughtful teaching. We help students move beyond simply knowing a text to understanding how language, structure, context and meaning work together.

Literature Study

Creative Writing

Creative Writing sessions nurture imagination, structure, style, drafting and editorial skill through poetry, prose, memoir, script, description and performance-based tasks. This strand supports both academic development and a deeper sense of personal voice.

Expression & Craft

Writing for Recovery & Poetry Therapy

For learners who need a gentler, more reflective route into language, we offer carefully held writing experiences that support confidence, emotional expression and reconnection with learning. This can be especially valuable for young people navigating anxiety, disruption, trauma, transition or low self-belief.

Wellbeing & Voice
Age Pathways

Designed for ages 3 to 18

Ages 3 to 5 · Early Years

Sessions focus on communication, listening, speaking, story, sound, rhythm, mark-making, early reading and confidence with language. Learning is playful, imaginative and responsive, helping very young children build strong foundations for literacy.

Early Years

Ages 5 to 11 · Primary

We support children with phonics, reading fluency, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension, grammar and writing development. Sessions can help learners catch up, deepen understanding or build stronger confidence in English across the primary years.

Primary English

Ages 11 to 14 · Lower Secondary

This stage focuses on deepening reading, writing, spoken language and literary understanding before GCSE. We help learners strengthen analytical writing, wider reading, vocabulary, discussion skills and confidence in expressing ideas clearly.

Secondary Foundation

Ages 14 to 18 · GCSE and Post-16 Support

Older students can receive focused support in English Language, English Literature, revision technique, essay method, unseen analysis, text knowledge, comparison skills and exam confidence. Support can also be adapted for resits, alternative provision or students who need a more personalised route through study.

GCSE & Beyond
Place-based Learning

Learning beyond the classroom

For us, place-based learning means learning in nature or in carefully chosen non-school locations that support focus, wellbeing, curiosity and connection. This might include outdoor spaces, parks, gardens, heritage settings, libraries, creative community venues or other calm environments that help learning feel more grounded and meaningful.

For some learners, stepping outside a conventional school setting can open up language in a different way. Nature can support reflection, sensory awareness, observation and imagination; community spaces can support confidence, belonging and real-world connection.

These environments can be especially helpful for learners who feel overwhelmed, disengaged or constrained in traditional settings. Place-based learning does not mean lowering standards. It means delivering high-quality English teaching in ways that are more flexible, humane and responsive to how different learners learn best.

  • Nature-based reading, writing and observation tasks.
  • Non-school learning environments chosen for calm, safety and suitability.
  • Creative and academic work shaped around the learner’s pace and confidence.
  • High expectations delivered in more responsive ways.
How We Work

Academic rigour with creative care

Curriculum-aware

Sessions are planned around age, stage, current attainment and clear learning goals so progress remains purposeful and measurable.

Planning

Nature-aware and Place-responsive

Where appropriate, learning can happen in outdoor or non-school environments that support confidence, regulation, attention and imagination.

Context

Confidence-building

We help learners grow in voice, reading fluency, written expression and self-belief so English becomes something they can engage with more fully.

Growth

Bespoke Support

Provision can be tailored for individual learners, siblings, small groups, elective home education, school referral or community-based learning models.

Flexibility
Curriculum & GCSE Focus

Built for real educational outcomes

This service is designed to support the learning journey from early years through to GCSE level. It can be used to strengthen classroom learning, support home education, build confidence after disruption, provide more personalised teaching or help young people prepare for important next steps.

Where GCSE study is involved, sessions can focus on literature texts, analytical writing, exam technique, comparison, language analysis, structure, vocabulary control and written clarity. Where younger learners are involved, the emphasis is on strong foundations in reading, communication, spelling, grammar, comprehension and composition.
